Isle of Man Regulator to Part Ways with CEO Steve Brennan
Brennan boasts some 38 years in the Isle of Man Government, the last 17 of which he spent as the GSC’s leader
Steve Brennan announced that he will be stepping down as chief executive officer of the Isle of Man Gambling Supervision Commission (GSC) after almost two decades in the position. He confirmed that his departure will come toward the end of 2024.
Brennan boasts some 38 years in the Isle of Man Government, the last 17 of which he spent as the GSC’s leader. However, he believes that it is time to move on.
In the meantime, the search for Brennan’s successor has already begun. On his LinkedIn account, the outgoing CEO shared a link to the recruitment information pack, inviting people with the necessary qualities to apply.
Brennan promised applicants that the eventual successor would get to become a part of an incredible and very professional team.
While the information pack details pretty much everything you need to know, it doesn’t really convey the incredible people you’ll meet, the fabulous professional relationships you’ll build, the expert knowledge sharing you’ll enjoy and the great camaraderie and support the sector offers.

Brennan Hopes He Contributed to the Isle of Man Gaming Sector
As for his feelings about stepping down, Brennan said that he thoroughly enjoyed his time at the helm of the regulatory body. He added that he hopes that he contributed to the improvement of the sector.
I’ve enjoyed my time enormously and hopefully contributed, in some way, to the advancement of regulating, and regulation of, online gambling.

During his time with the GSC, Brennan also spent time as a member of the board of the Gaming Regulators European Forum (GREF). From 2014 to 2016, he served as GREF’s vice chairman before being named chair in 2016 – an honor he retained until May 2018.
In the meantime, the Isle of Man gambling industry continues to evolve. Last year, Altostratus Limited, an Isle of Man-based firm submitted a proposal for the construction of a new casino complex that would breathe new life into the British Crown dependency’s capital.
