YouGov: Bettors, Interested in Subscription-Based Services
A survey by YouGov has revealed that a significant portion of sports bettors are open to subscribing to sportsbook services, with many attracted to features like exclusive promotions and parlay boost opportunities

According to a YouGov survey, bettors are becoming more and more interested in paying for subscription-based sportsbook services.
Many of the 301 bettors who were polled by the international online research data and analytics technology group expressed their openness to pay to receive exclusive offers and more advantageous betting opportunities.
The results follow DraftKings‘s launch of a parlay boost service to monthly New York-based subscribers at the start of the year.
The service that requires a $20 monthly payment provides enhanced odds for all parlays where individual legs are -500 or narrower.
44% of Young Bettors Fancy Subscription Plans
The study found that 22% of bettors surveyed are “very likely” to consider subscribing to a sports betting service, while 43% are “somewhat likely” to do so.
The response was even more favorable among younger bettors aged 18-34, with 44% expressing interest in a subscription plan.
The survey also showed that 18% were “not at all likely” to subscribe, and 10% were “not very likely” to do so.
The same research also highlighted the growing popularity of parlays, with 56% of bettors placing parlay wagers at least once a week.
Moreover, only 5% of study participants stated they avoided multi-leg bets altogether, further emphasizing the potential for a subscription model centered around parlay boosts and similar features.
Exclusive Offers, on Top of Bettors’ Preferences
The most appealing features for subscribers were exclusive promotions and offers, which drew 46% of votes overall.
This was especially popular among younger bettors (44% of those aged 18-34) and bettors aged 35 and older, with 47% of them expressing their desire to get access to such offers in exchange for a monthly fee.
Other features that piqued interest included lower fees and smaller commissions, favored by 45% of all participants, early access to new betting markets (38%), and personalized betting recommendations (35%).
Plus, 38% of respondents expressed interest in unlimited parlay odds boosts, used to increase winnings without requiring larger stakes.
For fans of parlay betting, even a small boost can majorly impact their payouts, turning subscription-based boosts into an excellent alternative.
Finally, 14% of respondents said none of these features would be enough to convince them to pay for a subscription.
More than 50% of Bettors Willing to Pay Up to $20 per Subscription
In terms of pricing, over half of survey participants (51%) were willing to pay under $20 per month for a sportsbook subscription.
Of those, 25% were comfortable with a fee of less than $10, while 26% said they would spend between $10 and $19.99, with the younger demographic (31%) being the most willing to pay in this range.
Only 21% would consider spending between $20 and $29.99, and just 5% would go as high as $30 or more.
Meanwhile, 19% of respondents were not interested in any subscription service.
DraftKings’ subscription service currently offers unlimited parlay boost tokens and other perks, including a 100% boost on up to 11 legs of a parlay.
The service aims to attract more bettors to parlay wagers, which have become increasingly popular due to their potential for high payouts on low-risk bets.
