Resorts World Guests Waited in Line for Hours Due to Technical Issues

Resorts World Las Vegas’ systems experienced a glitch, which forced the resort staff to assign rooms manually

Resorts World Las Vegas’ image has taken a blow after a bug caused thousands of guests to wait for hours to check-in. Although the property mitigated some of the damage, many visitors were left displeased.

Technical Mistake Caused Thousands to Wait in Line

As it turned out, Resorts World Las Vegas’ systems experienced a glitch, which forced the resort staff to assign rooms manually. Reports clarified that this was caused by a technical update gone wrong. The update to the property’s booking and hotel technology platform was supposed to be carried out from Tuesday to Wednesday – a fairly calm period of the week. Unfortunately, technical difficulties prolonged the implementation of the update into the weekend.

Resorts World Las Vegas recently implemented an upgrade to our booking and hotel technology platform. We experienced longer-than-expected delays in our guest check-in process due to an unforeseen outage related to this upgrade.

Resorts World statement

And, as it turned out, the weekend saw thousands of visitors come to Las Vegas for the National Rugby League. As the NRL’s official hotel, Resorts World was among the most visited properties this weekend, resulting in a long queue of people waiting to be checked in.

According to reports, the NRL had obtained keys to its players’ rooms in advance, preventing the athletes from waiting in line.

However, visitors were not so lucky.

Guests Were Very Unhappy

Danny Weidler, a sports columnist for the Sun-Herald, was extremely dissatisfied with the way Resorts World handled the situation. In a post on X, he expressed his frustration with Resorts World, which forced visitors from afar to wait for hours.

He said that the property’s excuses were a joke and advised Australian travelers to pre-book.

Australians and NRL fans were not the only ones affected by the technical issues Resorts World was experiencing. Visitors complained that their Friday plans had been completely ruined by the experience.

The Issue Was Resolved

On Saturday, Resorts World finally completed the technical update. The company thanked guests for their patience and understanding and said that it would leverage the new technology to prevent such issues.

The resort pointed out that its guest relations team had been working non-stop to resolve any issues with the guests.

According to reports, Resorts World Las Vegas will also offer affected customers 50% off their next visit.

Resorts World Prepares Mr Beast-Themed Event

Despite the recent setback, Resorts World has cemented itself as a popular property offering innovative experiences to guests. A few weeks ago, the resort unveiled an exclusive event inspired by the online celebrity Mr Beast.

The event is set to run from April 13 to 15 and will feature immersive activities and Mr Beast-themed merchandise. The event will also include a variety of on-site activations. Unfortunately, Mr Beast himself will not attend the event.
