PointsBet Appoints Liam Roecklein as SVP of Content

Premier global online gaming brand PointsBet announced a new addition to its executive team with the appointment of Liam Roecklein as Senior Vice President of Content.
Leverage Partnerships for Content Creation
As SVP of Content, former SVP, and general manager at Cheddar News Roecklein will oversee the overall content strategy across digital, social and traditional media, collaborating with PointsBet’s media partner NBC Sports, as well as professional sports teams and leagues, including the NFL, NHL, NBA, MLB, and PGA Tour.
Commenting on his new appointment, Roecklein highlighted the “treasure trove of untapped resources” offered by “PointsBet’s stable of talent and sports partnerships,” providing the assets to “create extraordinary content” across traditional, online, and social media.
“We are at the precipice of what’s to come. True to form for the brand, PointsBet will be at the forefront of attracting users and engaging them where they are.”

With significant experience overseeing live streaming content, growth, programming, production, and branded teams for financial news network Cheddar News, Roecklein will provide PointsBet with the necessary expertise as the brand is looking to ramp up original content efforts and brought experienced marketing expert Kyle Christensen as its new chief marketing officer (CMO) in the US.
Delivering Growth ‘Using Content as a Staple’
PointsBet CMO Christensen underscored the importance of the new appointment, setting the company on course to “do big things with Liam,” whose “track record of growing businesses using content as a staple” will be invaluable in this “still so new to so many” market.
“We have a unique opportunity here to expand the sporting experience with our in-house technology and the NBC partnership, highlighting why PointsBet is the premier destination for bettors. Liam and his team will be at the center of this.”
Kyle Christensen, CMO, PointsBet US
Roecklein, a New York native and current resident of Hoboken, New Jersey, graduated magna cum laude from Sacred Heart University with a Bachelor’s degree in Media Studies and minors in Political Science, Italian, and Film. His professional career started at digital video startup Zazoom and in the production department of Major League Baseball in 2012.
Prior to Roecklein’s latest role at Cheddar News, he served as an executive producer at Time magazine, developing programming for some of the most iconic magazine brands, including Sports Illustrated, People, Fortune, Essence, Golf, Money, and others.
The appointment of Roecklein followed hot in the heels of another high-profile addition PointsBet made to its management team, Mary-Beth Hosking, as the company’s new chief information officer (CIO) to help the business align its resources with goals.
