GambleAware has designated Siân Griffiths as its new chair of trustees, replacing Baroness Kate Lampard. The latter is stepping down after approximately eight years in the position.
Griffiths will step into the office on July 18 and will leverage her profound industry experience to tackle gambling harms in the UK. A former chair of Public Health England’s global health committee and founding director of the Jockey Club School of Public Health and Primary Care, the appointee will be a valuable asset to the British charity.
Griffiths is also a non-executive director for Public Health Wales.
She expressed delight in the appointment, vowing to continue working with GambleAware to ensure gambling harms are taken seriously.
I look forward to continuing these efforts with my public health colleagues and experts within the GambleAware board as we transition to a new statutory funding model.

In his new position, he will be tasked with working with the GamCare leadership on overseeing the charity’s strategy and managing the operations of its clinical and support services.
Hodgetts was welcomed on board by chair Margot Daly who lauded his significant expertise, knowledge and insights and said that she is looking forward to working with him.
Hodgetts, on the other hand, expressed delight about the opportunity to support the GamCare team and help it deliver its priorities.
The opportunity to lead and support the organization to continue delivering high-quality, personalized, support services, including the National Gambling Helpline – outstanding of its kind – that ensure the best possible outcomes for people experiencing gambling harm, is why I was attracted to the role.
