France Players Need to Perk Up

France still hasn’t scored a single goal from open play, but despite a couple of relatively poor performances, Les Bleus are still among the top Euro 2024 favorites. The trouble is that they’re on the side of the bracket where many other big favorites ended up, namely, Germany, Spain, and Portugal.

But this is no excuse for France to keep underperforming. This is a team with one of the best rosters not just in Europe but on the entire planet. The best thing is that all of their key men seem to be 100% fit and ready for takeoff.

This includes their biggest star Kylian Mbappe as well, who had to wear a protective mask in his last game due to a broken nose.

Belgium Should Feel Lucky to be in R16

Belgium advanced to the round of 16 of the Euros after finishing second in Group E with four points. What’s interesting is that each of the four teams from the group had the same number of points. It was Ukraine who ended up without advancing to the knockout stage due to a bad score difference.

Speaking of Ukraine, this team came very close to beating Belgium in the final round of the group phase. The game finished 0:0 but the Ukrainians had plenty of goal chances. This was particularly the case in the closing moments of the game, in which the Red Devils were practically defending with everything they had.

It was Belgium’s goalkeeper Koen Casteels who won the Man of the Match award, which is another fact showing how defensive the Belgians were in that game.

France vs. Belgium Prediction

Belgium has conceded only one goal so far and France has scored no goals from open play. However, we think that will change on July 1. Belgium just hasn’t played against such a powerful offense as the one Deschamps has at his disposal. Plus, the French are determined to show everyone what they’re made of.

Pick: France
