FanDuel Unveils RG Program Starring Randy Livingston

FanDuel, one of America’s sports betting powerhouses, has announced a new safer gambling partnership ahead of Responsible Gaming Education Month.

Livingston and His Wife Have Joined the RG Ambassador Team

The agreement will see FanDuel join forces with former NBA player and basketball coach Randy Livingston and his wife, sports agent Anita Smith. As a result, the operator will launch “Trusted Voices: Conversations About Betting,” a new program and resource hub for parents and educators.

The program will contain tools and resources that teach adults how to approach younger people about gambling and its associated risks. Additionally, the hub will contain crucial information on identifying early signs of potential gambling harm.

Trusted Voices: Conversations About Betting will see FanDuel, Livingston and Smith work on a series of educational videos. The content will detail Livingston’s incredible journey as an NBA star and his struggles with problem gambling.

In the series of videos, Livingston will tell viewers how he got exposed to gambling in the first place. He will also talk about his lowest point and his journey to recovery. Smith, who played a key role in Livingston’s recovery, hopes that her family’s story would inspire others to seek help.

The series will emphasize the importance of modeling responsibility for adults who choose to wager and the importance of not allowing minors to bet.

The content is developed in partnership with EPIC Global Solutions, an expert on gambling harm prevention. The program and its resources are available at ConversationsAboutBetting.com.

Video content from the program will be supported with paid media on digital, shared across FanDuel social channels and featured on fanduel.com/playwell.

The Program Will Send a Powerful Message

Livingston commented on the partnership with FanDuel, saying that the expansion of sports betting highlights a growing need to inform families about responsible gambling. He noted that FanDuel shares his and Smith’s goal of helping parents navigate these “tough, but important conversations.”

Smith added that conversations about gambling should be normalized, which is exactly what Trusted Voices: Conversations About Betting is trying to do. She added that her family is looking forward to working with FanDuel to amplify the program’s content and drive positive outcomes for young people.

Alison Kutler, vice president of responsible gaming and community impact at FanDuel, also commented on the matter, praising Livingston and Smith’s incredible story. According to Kutler, the duo will help the operator raise the standard for gambling responsibility while strengthening FanDuel’s RG ambassador team.

Last but not least, Teresa Fiore, VP of partnerships at EPIC Global Solutions, said that Livingston’s lived experience and Smith’s first-hand account of living alongside a problem player make for a “powerful message” that ensures people will listen. Fiore added that her team is proud to have played a role in the program.

FanDuel added that it will once again expand its relationship with Kindbridge Behavioral Health to expand the reach of its support for self-excluded players.
