Evolution Refuses to Budge as Strike Drags on
Evolution’s head of investor relations, Carl Linton, emphasized that the company believes it is in the right, in spite of the ongoing strike
Evolution’s head of investor relations, Carl Linton, emphasized that the company believes it is in the right, in spite of the ongoing strike. In interviews with EGR and NEXT.io, Linton echoed his company’s stance, slamming the strike as counterproductive.
Evolution Wants to Reach a Sensible Resolution
Linton dismissed claims that the Evolution Georgia strike is the longest in the country’s history. Despite that, the strike has been going on for months now since its beginning on July 12. Hundreds of workers have since been fighting for better work conditions with some even engaging in hunger strikes.
Linton pointed out that Evolution has been working hard to resolve the matter and has been engaging in close communication with stakeholders across the government and the community. He said that the company’s aim is to reach a resolution that would end the strike.
The head of investor relations repeated an earlier point made by Evolution, saying that the strikers are jeopardizing Evolution employees’ ability to work safely. The company has so far been very critical of the strike’s “commercially unviable and unreasonable” objectives, and the health-related dangers it has exposed many workers to.
He added that the union’s escalating practices have been “increasingly concerning” to the Evolution leadership.
Evolution Is Proud of Its Work Culture
In his interviews with EGR and NEXT.io, Linton echoed a similar point, saying that Evolution is “proud” of its hub in Georgia and the workplace culture it has built. He said that the company has allowed thousands of young people to work lucrative jobs without prior experience, and earn more money than what other companies offer.
Linton reiterated Evolution’s anti-violence ethos, rejecting aggression and illegal activities. He also repeated the company’s vow to defuse the matter in accordance with local laws.
Evolution Workers Are Fighting for Better Conditions
In the meantime, Evolution workers repeat claims that they have been mistreated by the company, its management and even online casino customers. Complaints have included penalties for leaving the station during work, even if it had been for health-related reasons.
To make matters worse, many workers continue to claim that they have been hurt by the company’s security personnel – something Evolution has yet to address.
In any case, the striking workers continue their fight for better pay, humane treatment and improved sanitary conditions.
The striking workers have received support from international organizations, such as UNI Europa, which slammed Evolution for refusing to engage in productive talks with its employees.
