DraftKings Provides Treatment to Online Players in 25 States

The expansion of DraftKings’ relationship with Kindbridge comes less than a year since the two parties originally teamed up

DraftKings announced an expansion of its partnership with Kindbridge Behavioral Health, an organization specializing in problem gambling treatment. Under the deal, the latter firm will offer therapy and treatment in every jurisdiction where DraftKings’ online sports betting and iGaming products are available.

The expansion of DraftKings’ relationship with Kindbridge comes less than a year since the two parties originally teamed up. For reference, the operator joined forces with the treatment provider in September 2023, initially launching a pilot program to deliver personalized support for sports bettors in Colorado.

After that, the two organizations worked together to create a system that effectively links players who have opted to exclude themselves from gambling with support services.

Starting April 1, Kindbridge’s services will be available to every DraftKings customer in the 25 states where the company operates online. Additionally, the counseling firm’s programs will be available to DraftKings customers in the Canadian province of Ontario.

This means that all of DraftKings’ online players will be able to access comprehensive mental health assessments, care providers and personalized care plans when they exclude themselves from the DraftKings platform.

The expanded deal aligns with DraftKings’ long-standing commitment to providing its clients with support. The gaming company hopes that the joint initiative with Kindbridge will not only help players experiencing gambling difficulties but also provide valuable insights and data into the effectiveness of treatment resources for players who seek help via online gambling platforms.

The Deal Highlights DraftKings’ Desire to Protect Players

DraftKings’ chief compliance officer, Jennifer Aguiar, commented on the expanded relationship with Kindbridge, saying that this is a great opportunity to provide important resources to at-risk or harmed players. She added that her team wants everyone on her company’s platform to play responsibly.

For those who recognize signs of problem gaming and decide to utilize our tools to self-exclude, they now have access to therapy and treatment free of cost through Kindbridge Behavioral Health.

In the meantime, Daniel Umfleet, Kindbridge Behavioral Health’s chief executive officer, said that DraftKings’ integration of direct care across its platform demonstrates the operator’s ambition to enhance player health.

This collaboration sets a new industry benchmark for comprehensive care, ensuring swift and essential support is accessible to those in need.

DraftKings isn’t the only company to recognize the value of Kindbridge’s services. Earlier this month, FanDuel, another leading operator, also teamed up with the treatment provider, in time for Problem Gambling Awareness Month.
