Betr Prepares for Sportsbook Launch Ahead of NFL Season
Betr CEO Joey Levy expressed the new platform's commitment to addressing the challenges encountered by casual gamblers when they seek to place bets
Betr, which was created in 2022 by Joey Levy and influencer Jake Paul, is almost ready to release its new sportsbook before the start of the 2024 NFL season.
Betr CEO Promises User-Friendly Betting Platform to Address Casual Gamblers’ Needs
According to CEO Joey Levy, the new platform will be simple and easy to use for betting. Speaking at “Sports Betting, Gaming and Esports: A Deep Dive,” a virtual event organized by Benzinga, he said that they were dedicated to solving problems that casual gamblers face when they want to place a bet.
Betr has been growing rapidly since it launched a micro betting app where people could make bets on anything happening during games or matches. Later on, they introduced Betr Picks which allowed fans to participate in daily fantasy sports contests.
Betr combines these products with social media engagement and viral content creation as part of their strategy for attracting diverse groups of individuals who are looking at betting from another perspective other than traditional methods centered around wins and losses related to one team playing against another team.
In Ohio and Virginia, Betr has already started testing its innovative sportsbook through a beta version and plans are underway to roll it out officially in Indiana, Pennsylvania, Colorado, Kentucky and Maryland. Levy outlined that they were going to be very intentional about each step that was taken toward expansion. He said:
“We’re going to methodically roll out the sportsbook platform in a manner where we’re looking to get to profitability on a state-by-state basis, ensuring we can cover operating expenses and minimum guarantees in each of these states before expanding further.”
$15M Funding and Cordish Partnership Set the Stage for PA Launch
The $15 million recent funding has given Betr more power to enter different states and capture a wider market share thus becoming one among many smaller players competing fiercely against established brands and larger gambling companies.
Furthermore, the upcoming Pennsylvania launch is a significant milestone not only because it will serve as Betr’s entrance point into the market but also due to its increasing online gaming industry size – something that can be attributed mainly to legalization coupled with regulation frameworks put in place over time.
Moreover, Cordish Gaming Group announced its partnership with Betr earlier this year, enabling the company to launch an online casino in Pennsylvania by the end of this year.
The collaboration which was made public in January is in line with Betr’s objective to establish multiple revenue streams within different gaming verticals in the coming years.
