50 Cent Breaks the Ice with LV Six-Show Residency at Planet Hollywood
50 Cent has announced his first-ever Las Vegas residency at Planet Hollywood Live; the 49-year-old rapper, who will reportedly scoop up $15 million for the residency, has already announced his six shows
Rapper 50 Cent has announced his pioneering Las Vegas residency, set to take place at Planet Hollywood from December 2024 to January 2025.
50 Cent: In Da Club Experience Counting Six Shows
The six-show residency, titled 50 Cent: In Da Club Experience, will run from December 27-31 and January 3-4, with the performances designed around New Year’s Eve celebrations.
Planet Hollywood has been a trailblazer in the Las Vegas scene, hosting the Strip’s first-ever hip-hop residency, “DJ Cassidy’s Pass The Mic Live! The Iconic Las Vegas Residency,” in July 2024 at the Bakkt Theater.
The mesmerizing music experience starred New York native hip-hop icons Ja Rule, Fat Joe, Slick Rick, and Doug E. Fresh.
50 Cent’s newly announced residency, therefore, continues the trend of bringing hip-hop to the forefront of Vegas entertainment.
City Cardholder Presale Tickets, Available
Presale tickets for Citi cardholders have already become available, with general sales starting on October 19.
All performances will begin at 9 p.m. PT, except for the special New Year’s Eve show, which will kick off at 10 p.m.
50 Cent has promised fans an unforgettable experience, teasing the show’s high-energy vibe and special surprises.
“I always bring the energy, and Las Vegas is the perfect spot to create an unforgettable experience for my fans,” the rapper said in a statement.
“We’re talking big production, surprises, and the ultimate New Year’s Eve party for my Vegas residency.”
The Queens-born rapper with an Instagram following of close to 34 million further hyped the event on social media, writing, “My first Vegas residency is going to be an experience, you don’t wanna miss this! I’ll be doing 6 Exclusive shows December 27 – January 4 at PH Live at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. Tickets on sale Saturday.”
His post has already gathered more than 25,000 likes and has been shared roughly 4,000 times.
In preparation for the residency, the G-Unit mogul has hinted at the setlist, which will feature some of his iconic tracks, including “Candy Shop,” “In Da Club,” and “P.I.M.P.”
$15 Million Paycheck
Already one of hip-hop’s highest earners, 50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis James Jackson III, is poised for another massive payday.
His The Final Lap 2023 tour grossed over $100 million across 83 shows worldwide, helping him join Drake, the iconic artist with an impressive history of losing underdog bets with massive sums, as the only hip-hop artist to surpass the nine-figure milestone with 1.05 million tickets sold in North America, Europe, Oceania, and Asia.
However, the Las Vegas residency is set to top that on a per-show basis.
According to TMZ reports, 50 Cent will earn $15 million for the six performances, making this likely the most lucrative hip-hop residency in Vegas history.
In addition to the substantial fee, 50 Cent’s premium champagne and cognac brand, Sire Spirits, will present the New Year’s Eve show, adding another layer of exclusivity to the event.
Last year, music legends Madonna and Adele extended their Las Vegas residencies into 2024, while pop star Kelly Clarkson announced her own residency on The Strip starting in July 2023.
