Tampa Bay Buccaneers Looking Good in 2024

The Bucs are 3-2 in the 2024 season, beating some real heavyweights so far. Their most recent win happened in Week 4 against the Philadelphia Eagles (33:16) in Florida. They also defeated the Detroit Lions (20:16) on the road, as well as the Washington Commanders (37:20) at home.

Their first loss of the season happened against the Denver Broncos (26:7), while in their most recent game, they suffered an overtime loss to the Atlanta Falcons (36:30).

Their quarterback Baker Mayfield has been sensational, throwing for 8 touchdowns in five games, as well as scoring 2 rushing TDs. This puts him in No. 2 on the list of QBs responsible for most TDs in the 2024 NFL.

His passer rating is 112.2, but he’s still ranked relatively low in QB Power Rankings considering his input. Mayfield is 10th with a QBR of 64.0.

New Orleans Saints Determined to Win Week 6 Game

Mayfield and Tampa’s offense have been doing alright so far in 2024, but the Saints defense looks more than capable of stopping them from scoring too many points. Tampa’s scoring average is 25.4 points per game, but New Orleans’ defense is allowing just 19.2.

Further, the Saints’ offense is also more productive than the one of the Bucs. These guys are scoring 28.0 points on average. All this sounds impressive, so how come are they 2-3 overall with three losses in a row?

Well, their schedule was ugly. Last weekend, they played against defending champs, the Kansas City Chiefs; before that, they played against the revamped Atlanta Falcons, and before that, they played against the Philadelphia Eagles.

They also played against the Dallas Cowboys but managed to beat them. Actually, they destroyed the Cowboys in Texas with the final score being 44:19. In the opening game week, they did even better – they scored 47 against the Carolina Panthers.

Should they hope to do something similar on Sunday? Probably not, as their starting QB Derek Carr is out with an injury. His backup Spencer Rattler probably won’t do much, which is why the Saints will probably have to focus entirely on their running game.

Luckily for them, they’ve got two amazing running backs on the roster, namely, Alvin Kamara and Jamaal Williams. Kamara is a 5-time Pro Bowler, Williams was the NFL’s rushing TD leader two years ago.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. New Orleans Saints Prediction

The Saints’ defense is good enough to stop the Buccaneers from scoring more than they usually do. We think they won’t score more than 25, which is their average this season. We also predict that New Orleans’ runners will score a couple of TDs, possibly just enough to get themselves a win.

Still, if you want to play it safe, betting on the Saints +3.5 is the way to go, as this is bound to be a very close game.

Pick: Saints +3.5
