Leading sportsbook operator PointsBet announced today that it appointed the basketball icon Shaquille O’Neal as a brand ambassador in Australia. The professional basketball champion and three-time MVP will headline the company’s 2021 Australian brand campaign. The campaign will be aired across TV, mobile, digital, and social media channels.
In a statement, the basketball star Shaquille O’Neal said that he is excited to join forces with PointsBet. He deemed the bookmaker as the best-in-class partner in Australia when it comes to online sportsbooks.

Mr. Fahey acknowledged that U.S. sports and basketball in particular “continue to be the fastest-growing betting sport” in Australia and the company is incredibly excited to collaborate with such a famous athlete. In conclusion, Mr. Fahey said that PointsBet is delighted that Mr. O’Neal agreed to become a brand ambassador.

Elsewhere, in the U.S., earlier this month the company inked a key partnership with the Detroit Red Wings in Michigan. Under the partnership, PointsBet became an official gaming partner of the NHL franchise. Before this, the company inked another key agreement with the Detroit Pistons. As a result, PointsBet became an official sports betting partner of the leading NBA franchise in the Great Lakes State.
