Nevada’s Stockman’s Casino Operator Advances with NGCB Approval

The new owner of the popular Fallon casino, Clarity Game, received a recommendation for the transfer of operations from Full House Resorts

The gambling regulator in Nevada, the Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB), recently recommended licensing for several executives, owning a company that recently purchased a casino in Fallon. The Board also agreed with the transition of the operations of Stockman’s Casino from Full House Resorts to Clarity Game, the company that purchased the property last year.

Clarity Game Plans to Operate Stockman’s Casino in Fallon

It was back in September last year when Clarity Game, a company owned by Michael Gaughan III, the son of the casino mogul Michael Gaughan, and David Ross. The Las Vegas-based company agreed to pay a total of $9.2 million for Stockman’s Casino located in Fallon. The total acquisition cost consists of $2.2 million paid by Clarity Game for the venue’s casino operations, as well as an extra $7 million for the property itself.

Since the purchase, the new owners have leased the casino to Full House Resorts, the company that formerly owned the property. In exchange for $50,000 per month, Full House operated the casino, considering that it held a license to do so.

However, the new owners plan to secure licenses and seek approval for the takeover of the operations from Full House. Not unexpectedly, such a move requires approval from the state’s gambling regulators, the NGCB and the Nevada Gaming Commission. Besides transitioning the operation of the casino, the new owners of Stockman’s Casino plan improvements to the property too.

Nevada Gaming Commission Needs to Sign Off the Approval

During a recent hearing, the NGCB recommended for approval the licensing of Michael Gaughan III, a report from CDC Gaming reveals. Gaughan and Ross own equal stake in Clarity Game with each holding 46%. Speaking during the recent hearing, Ross explained that the company sees the potential of Fallon, acknowledging its future expansion and ongoing growth.

Speaking about Stockman’s Casino, the executive said: “This asset hasn’t performed for Full House, which has been focused on large properties outside Nevada, and we’ll bring in products that are working in the market they currently don’t have.” Ross added that the venue lost some clients but reaffirmed Clarity Game’s plan to improve the offering in order to retain existing customers and engage with new ones.

Pointing to the importance of collaborating with the community, Ross added that Clarity Game anticipates expanding Stockman’s Casino offering and at the same time, improving the food and beverage outlets available on site.

Despite the shift in ownership, Clarity Game confirmed that all employees at Stockman’s Casino will retain their roles.

Following the nod of the NGCB, the transition of operations to Clarity Game, as well as the executives’ licensing will seek final approval from the Nevada Gaming Commission. A meeting on the matter is scheduled toward the end of this month.
