Kindbridge Confirms Gambling Addiction Treatment Improves Mental Health

Kindbridge, a research outfit specializing in addressing gambling-related problems and treating gambling addiction, has revealed a new encouraging study

According to the research unit, Kindbridge Behavioral Health, people who undergo treatment for gambling addiction exhibit signs of improved mental health, giving further credence to the claim that problem gambling treatment and interventions are effective, even if there is some percentage of relapses and unsuccessful treatment with certain individuals.

Treating Gambling Addiction Has Immediate Mental Health Impact

Kindbridge has long argued that gambling addiction is tied to other mental health problems such as insomnia, alcohol, anxiety, and depression, but the treatment of problem gambling could actually have an impact on those other conditions and mental disorders as well.

Kindbridge bases this on extensive data that it has collected in its own trials. Over the period of 12 weeks, the company argued, its clients went from showing symptoms of depression to minimal or no depressive symptoms at all, thanks to specialized treatment and interventions, which include counselling and education.

The study was based on 279 clients with Kindbridge meticulously scrutinizing the entire process in a bid to garner a better understanding of what is helping individuals’ recovery.

According to Kindbridge, many of their clients had sought the company’s help after self-excluding through gambling self-exclusion programs offered by gambling operators, Kindbridge said that the individuals were highly motivated on a 10/10 scale, the company specified.

Kindbridge has also concluded that its treatment methods have been effectively helping to treat gambling addiction and problem gambling across a multi-generational and gender field of individuals.

Kindbridge has also acknowledged that there are some subtle differences in the treatments offered to people who have become addicted through a land-based and online casino, but that the universal approach was pretty much the same.

Kindbridge has put a great emphasis on individuals in their recovery, steering them towards best practices and intervening as appropriate, while allowing consumers to take control.

Path to Treating Gambling Addicts Remains Fairly Unchanged

The latest survey also indicates that treating problem gambling head-on could help address the other conditions that could be tied to the core reasons why people experience problem gambling for the first time.

In the meantime, Kindbridge said that the majority of people whom they have been treating preferred to play online – around 58% of the people in the latest survey. Kindbridge has been active in helping address problem gambling and looking into specific niches that may have been overlooked.

For example, the company set up a dedicated Military Gambling Awareness Committee in June this year, hoping to help military personnel who may be struggling with gambling addiction, and in a bid to increase the combat-readiness of soldiers and staffers.
