Hustler Casino Robber Arrested, Faces Prison Time
Martin Estrada, US Attorney for the Central District of California, condemned O.P.’s actions and vowed to hold violent perpetrators accountable for victimizing the community
A criminal who is believed to be behind the assault and robbery of a woman at the parking lot of the Hustler Casino in California has been arrested. The 21-year-old man is said to have hurt the victim in his assault.
The Assailant Broke a Woman’s Teeth and Stole Her Purse
According to the allegations, the man with the initials O.P. saw his victim in the casino’s parking lot on August 25 and made the decision to rob her. As a result, he charged at her, allegedly pushing her to the ground.
The victim tried to struggle in order to protect her purse. As she fought off the assailant, she started screaming for help. At that moment, the assailant allegedly pulled out a gun and forced the muzzle into the woman’s mouth and threatened her to shut up, according to the prosecution. The forceful action broke several of the victim’s teeth, reports say.
Faced with a death threat, the woman eventually let go of the purse, at which point O.P. left her and fled in a car. The purse he stole contained between $1,000 and $2,000, reports say.
O.P. Engaged in a Robbery Spree
The prosecution claims that this wasn’t O.P.’s only participation in a criminal act. According to them, he had previously participated in a series of armed robberies at parking lots across California. He is believed to have committed at least three armed robberies and one attempted robbery between August 25 and September 22.
This included a robbery of a taxi driver and a robbery of two wealthy victims near a shopping district. In the latter case, O.P. and his accomplice allegedly stole items worth $44K.
In a later case, O.P. fired his gun at an uncooperative victim, shooting him the thigh. The brave man, however, continued fighting back, kicking the assailant onto the ground and forcing them to retreat, according to reports. The victim has since recovered from his wounds, the prosecutors noted.
The alleged 21-year-old criminal has been charged with interfering with commerce by robbery and using a gun for criminal purposes. He faces a potential prison sentence for his crimes.
Martin Estrada, US Attorney for the Central District of California, condemned O.P.’s actions and vowed to hold violent perpetrators accountable for victimizing the community. He promised to collaborate with local law enforcement to make sure such offenders are put to justice.
