Entain Publishes 2023 UK Gender Pay Gap Report

Melanie Tansey, Entain’s chief people officer, commented on the matter, expressing her company’s desire to help female employees feel understood and appreciated

Entain has published its latest Gender Pay Gap Report, highlighting the differences between the salaries of male and female customers. While the hourly gap remained rather low, the bonus pay gap remained significant.

As per the Equality Act 2010, Entain published its gender gap results for 2023, highlighting a median hourly gender pay gap of 4%. This figure is lower than the 5.3% reported in 2021 but higher than the 3.2% Entain posted in 2022.

The mean hourly gender pay gap, on the other hand, stood at 15.9%, representing a noticeable decline from both 2022 and 2021.

The median bonus gender pay gap increased from 38.7% in 2022 to 44.4% in 2023. However, this figure still remained significantly lower than the 59.6% in 2021. On the contrary, the mean bonus gender pay gap declined from 66.1% in 2022 to 64.6% in 2023 but increased from 63.4% in 2021.

Entain’s report also shows that 60.3% of all female workers received a bonus against 65.3% of male workers.

In the meantime, female employees made up 53.5% and 57.4% of Entain’s workforce in Q1 and Q2, respectively, but only 49.9% and 37% in Q3 and Q4, respectively.

Entain Wants Women to Feel Appreciated

Entain said that it will continue to work hard to close the gap and has already undertaken a number of initiatives to improve its equality. These include Women@Entain, a newly-launched Menopause Hub and a Returnship program in partnership with McLaren.

In addition, Entain’s Workplace of Tomorrow mental health program seeks to support the well-being of female employees and nurture a culture of trust and psychological safety. Finally, the gambling giant teamed up with Global Gaming Women and introduced its Women@Entain mentoring program.

Melanie Tansey, Entain’s chief people officer, commented on the matter, expressing her company’s desire to help female employees feel understood and appreciated.

We are proud to attract and support talented women in an industry that has traditionally been male-dominated. However, we know that females are still underrepresented in some senior roles at Entain.

Tansey added that the regular measuring of the gender pay gap allows her team to understand the imbalance and what it can do to improve representation over time.
