Court Sides with Light & Wonder in Copyright Case Against Zero Gravity
Faced with litigation on all fronts, Light & Wonder has scored a much-needed relief in a case against Zeroo Gravity Games

Light & Wonder has won a reprieve in its legal tribulations, which have involved an ever-growing list of companies, including Aristocrat Technologies and Evolution.
Light & Wonder wins legal battle against copycat game maker
After losing a ruling over its Dragon Train game franchise in the United States against Aristocrat, Light & Wonder has now secured the court’s favor with the US District Court for the Northern District ruling in favor of the company over its complaint that Zeroo Gravity’s mobile slot game “3 Stuffed Swine” was an unapologetic copyright infringement and theft of Light & Wonder’s own “Rich Little Piggies: Meal Ticket” game.
Zeroo Gravity’s title was largely based on Light & Wonder’s own game, the company argued, alleging that many of the core gameplay elements, and even visuals were lifted “verbatim” from the original title developed by Light & Wonder, and specifically the three cartoon piglets that appear in both games and have become recognizable mascots for either title.
Zeroo Gravity’s title arrived several years after the original slot and only a year after its incorporation as a mobile game. Yet, Light & Wonder has been quick to detect this chicanery and bring the party to court, with a ruling now establishing that the company has been right all along.
Light & Wonder will now seek to collect damages and also potential profits that Zeroo Gravity may have inflicted on the company and generated by copying its product.
Not the last of Light & Wonder’s legal struggles
Similar to the case with Aristocrat Games, which saw Light & Wonder on the receiving end, the company is also hoping to see a permanent injunction on Zeroo Gravity’s game, which will remove its contender and the copycat title from the market.
Yet, Light & Wonder has another legal ordeal to juggle, as the company is also facing pressure from Evolution in Nevada. Evolution has accused Light & Wonder of similarly misappropriating and infringing on its intellectual property by accessing sensitive documents that contained the math and algorithms used by the company to develop its popular Lightning-series games.
Aristocrat Gaming is also facing legal challenges of its own, with Kentucky alleging that the company is offering illegal gambling services in the state.
