Caesars Virginia Is Looking for 650 Workers to Join the Danville Casino

With Caesars Virginia’s Danville construction site proceeding on schedule, the company has confirmed that it will need 650 additional workers to staff its operations

The casino, which is due to open by the end of the year, is being built at the Dan River Inc’s textile campus’ former grounds, and a temporary pavilion has already been launched under the Caesars Virginia brand.

Caesars Virginia Is Looking for 650 Workers Right Now

The temporary location is currently staffing 430 team members, and the new hires would come on top of those to run the sprawling casino and hotel complex. Caesars Virginia is set to offer 320 hotel rooms, a casino floor with 1,300 slot machines, 85 live dealer table games, 24 electronic table games, and much more, including a World Series of Poker Room.

There is also a 2,500-seat live concert theater and 50,000 square feet dedicated fully to meeting and convention space. Caesars Virginia is now holding a job fair in Browns Summit at the Bryan Park Conference Center until 3 pm on Tuesday.

The fair is ideal for both unemployed and underemployed people with many vacancies such as pit supervisors, managers, public relations, social media specialists, slot attendants, waitstaff, HVAC techs, electricians and kitchen workers all welcome to join.

Caesars Virginia is hoping to bring in serious revenue as the temporary position has already generated $19.2 million in June alone. Even then, things have not been going entirely smoothly, as Caesars Virginia initially promised to hire 1,300 people, but has since received approval from the Danville City Council to change this commitment to at least 900 team members.

At current estimates, the casino will be hosting 1,100-odd workers, and may further add to this number.

Costs Go Up, But Confidence in the Project Does Not Falter

The Danville project has cost Caesars more than it had expected too, with the original budget set at $500 million, but easily ballooning to $750 million in the past years.

As to the opening date, a meeting of the Virginia Lottery Board last week confirmed that Caesars Virginia is on track to open by the year’s end.

The location has not been picked randomly either, as Dan River Inc.’s textile campus has indeed been one of the biggest economic drivers in the area for 100 years, but is now being replaced by the casino.

Caesars Virginia has planned the design of the casino resort by focusing on retaining the site’s historic look and roots.
