This is the idea behind the Universal Payment Adapter system showcased by Acres Manufacturing at the 2025 Global Gaming Expo (G2E). The idea behind the system is simple – top up your slot machine credit without any need to stand up and visit an ATM.
The system will allow you to directly withdraw funds from your bank account and deposit them straight into it.
The solution touts its innovative twist, as it won’t require an additional app or a digital wallet. Rather, players will use a QR code to allow for a transfer between their bank accounts and the casino to happen, topping up the slot machine balance quickly.
Forget Apps, E-Wallets, and Other Hurdles – QR Codes Suffice
Yet, this is hardly just a project that is in its conceptual stages, with two dozen casinos already employing the service since August 2025, and the system has only now been demonstrated in full at the G2E. More rollouts will be coming, too.
UPA, as the solution is known for short, offers a much more intuitive approach that is effortless and does away with some of the typical hurdles encountered by other cashless payment options – such as having to pre-register, use a specific e-wallet, or perhaps download a separate app.
The use of a QR code, if tested successfully, may replace the technology that other companies are currently using, offering players a much quicker way to top up their bank accounts without ever leaving their devices.
