A woman in Ontario has won CAD 1 million ($711,755) from a lucky lottery ticket. The fortunate winner successfully matched all winning numbers in the September 10 Lotto 6/49 draw.

The Woman Was So Excited, She Cried

The identity of the woman was revealed as Suzanne Cayer, 63. The married woman, who has two kids and three grandchildren, said that the money will significantly help her family as it will allow her to pay off her son’s mortgage. In addition to that, the woman plans to treat herself a bit, saying that she cannot wait to go shopping and live her life to the fullest.

In an interview with the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation, Cayer said that she was half asleep when she started checking her ticket and, by the time she finished, she was wide awake.

I was stunned! I changed my clothes and ran to the closest store to double-check my ticket.

Cayer became so excited when she learned that she had just won $1 million that she felt tears running down her face.

She added that her family has been incredibly supportive and thrilled for her.

For context, the winning ticket was sold at Giant Tiger on Racine Street in Casselman.

A Week Earlier, a Kingston Man from Won CAD 1.3M

Cayer’s win came a week after a Kingston man by the name of James Kane won a jackpot of CAD 1,288,729.80 ($917,260). The man secured this win on September 3 and was in disbelief when he learned that he was the winner.

In an interview, Kane admitted that winning such a significant sum was hard for him to believe at first. He added that he plans to use the winnings to retire early.

In the USA, on the other hand, a Massachusetts trust just secured an impressive prize of $4 million from the local lottery’s 100X instant ticket game. This was notably the second of three top prizes to be won.
