Kurt Freedlund Joins GLI as Senior Lottery Solutions Account Executive
In his new role at GLI, Freedlund will leverage his extensive lottery expertise to foster innovation and elevate the quality of GLI's lottery solutions

Gaming Laboratories International (GLI) has appointed lottery specialist Kurt D. Freedlund as the company’s senior lottery solutions account executive. In this position, he will provide strategic direction and advisory services to GLI’s lottery customers, concentrating on product innovation, operational modernization, governance, strategic planning, procurement optimization, and business analysis.
Angela Wong Praises Kurt Freedlund’s Lottery Expertise as He Joins GLI Team
Angela Wong, GLI vice president of global lottery solutions, commented on the announcement by saying that they are thrilled to have him join their team because Freedlund brings with him vast experience coupled with deep knowledge about the sector which will go a long way towards improving upon what GLI offers its clients.
Indeed throughout his career within the lottery sector, there have been many notable contributions made by Freeldund who has held various leadership roles such as founder and CEO at KDF Consulting and Solutions where he gave strategic advice to key stakeholders within the lottery industry aimed at helping them understand current challenges facing them and also the opportunities going forward. Additionally, in his role as president of LottoInteractive, Freedlund actively represented the lottery industry in Washington DC, advocating against the Restore the Wire Act legislation.
At the Georgia Lottery Corporation, he was responsible for all operational and legal aspects. He ensured that the iLottery program of the Georgia Lottery was developed and implemented together with supervising regulatory control over Coin Operated Amusement Machines.
Mega Millions Co-Creator Kurt Freedlund Brings Expertise to GLI’s Lottery Team
Freedlund also brought his expertise to the Illinois Lottery as executive deputy director and general counsel. During his tenure, he acted as the lead counsel for the creation of the Big Game, which is now known as Mega Millions. His work in this role cemented his reputation as a key player in the lottery sector.
His thoughts and analysis have been published in many publications about gambling and he has spoken at numerous gaming and lottery conventions around the world. From Northwestern University School of Law, he holds a Juris Doctor degree and received a B.S. in Political Science and History from Northwestern University.
Freedlund’s new position at GLI will allow him to use what he knows about lotteries to drive innovation and excellence in the lottery solutions provided by GLI. This will also help achieve GLI’s goal of supporting its client’s success in the lottery sector through further innovation.
GLI also recently promoted Andrea Bossard to the position of senior director of engineering.
