MGM Grand Detroit, a casino resort in Michigan, has enhanced its leadership with a major new appointment. As it turns out, the slot operations heavyweight Terry Briggs will join the property as its vice president of slot operations.

The Appointee Is a Slot Operations Powerhouse

As MGM Grand Detroit’s VP of slot operations, Terry Briggs will bring two decades of experience to the property’s team. Having formerly served in similar positions at other major casino companies, Briggs boasts a robust track record of improving performance and driving increased customer engagement.

As VP of slot operations, Briggs will leverage his expertise to oversee slot operations and optimize the performance of the gaming floor in line with player preferences.

Before joining the MGM family, Briggs served as director of slot operations at Golden Nugget Lake Charles, a gambling property in Louisiana. His earlier career saw him in senior leadership roles at other casinos, such as Tortoise Rock Casino, where he worked as director of operations and later executive director of operations.

In addition to that, Briggs spent 4 years under the fold of Penn National Gaming, serving as casino operations shift manager of its 1st Jackpot Casino in Mississippi. During the COVID closures, he was promoted to multi-property casino operations shift manager for Penn.

Brigg’s earlier experiences include time at Bally’s Casino Tunica, Treasure Bay Casino and Bally’s Saloon & Gambling Hall.

Briggs Was Welcomed to the MGM Grand Detroit Team

MGM Grand Detroit’s president and chief operations officer, Matt Buckley, welcomed Briggs on board, lauding his “exceptional ability to elevate guest experiences” and drive operational excellence.

Buckley emphasized that Briggs will be a valuable asset to the broader MGM Grand Detroit team.

MGM Resorts Q1 Report Outlines Stable Revenues

In other news, MGM Resorts recently published its Q1 report and reported stable revenues despite a slight dip in adjusted EBITDA. In its report, the company outlined net revenues of $4.5 billion, up 4% year-on-year, as well as adjusted EBITDA reached $580 million, down from $637 million in the prior year period.

Despite the slight EBITDA headwinds, CEO Bill Hornbuckle was pleased with the results and said that he was excited for the remainder of the year.
