Rivalry Parts Ways with C-Suite, Directors

Esports and crypto betting company Rivalry announced changes to its leadership amid its search for a buyer. In its latest announcement, the company confirmed that its C-suite and directors have exited the business, leaving CEO & founder Steven Salz to lead the remaining business until a potential buyer appears.

Rivalry Announced the Departure of Its Leadership Team

In its official announcement, Rivalry said that the following individuals have exited its board of directors, effective as of Friday, April 24:

• Stephen Rigby
• Steven Isenberg
• Ryan White
• Kevin Wimer

In the meantime, Rivalry also confirmed C-suite departures. The announcement reads that Ryan White has resigned from his role as chief technology officer of the company.

Kevin Wimer, on the other hand, has resigned from his role as chief operating officer, Rivalry added.

In addition to that, Rivalry noted that Demi Abidogun-Benson has resigned from her position as interim chief financial officer.

Rivalry said that the changes are aligned with its “ongoing operational transition” and promised to provide further updates in the future.  

Rivalry Is Looking for a Buyer

As mentioned, the departure of Rivalry’s board members and most of the C-suite is a part of the company’s continued transition. The announcement aligns with the company’s previously disclosed plans to scale down its operations as it looks for a buyer.

As of the time of this writing, Rivalry has only released sparse information about its exact buyout plans. The company previously warned that, given its reduced operating scale and ongoing evaluation, it cannot provide any assurance that it will be able to complete a strategic alternative or continue its operation.
