Powerball Jackpot Goes Unclaimed, Michigan Ticket Wins $1M
A single ticket bought in Michigan, however, managed to match all five balls correctly, netting their winner a prize of $1 million

The Powerball jackpot once again went unclaimed, rising after yesterday’s drawing. The September 4 drawing was largely unremarkable as it only crowned a single winner of a $1 million prize.
A Single Player Won $1M
The latest drawing, as mentioned, crowned no winner. The winning white numbers, for reference, were 7, 10, 21, 33 and 59. The red Powerball, meanwhile, stood at 20.
A single ticket bought in Michigan, however, managed to match all five balls correctly, netting their winner a prize of $1 million. If the ticket had the optional Power Play feature active, the player would have been eligible to claim $2 million instead.
If the player had correctly guessed the Powerball number, they would have claimed the $95 million jackpot or the $46.7 million lump cash option.
In addition to the $1 million ticket sold in Michigan, five players won prizes of $50,000 for matching four white balls and the Powerball. Another 2 will take prizes of $150,000 home each for matching four numbers and the Powerball while they had the Power Play feature active.
In addition, 229 players matched four numbers to win $100. An additional 77 did the same with Power Play active, earning them $300 instead. Another 693 players matched three white numbers and the Powerball. 203 of them had Power play active, meaning that they will take $300 each, while the rest will grab prizes of $100 each instead.
As no one won the jackpot, however, it will move forward to the next drawing, which is set to take place on September 7. The estimated jackpot for that drawing has surpassed the $100 million mark and is standing at $112 million with a cash option of $55.3 million.
Players in the US and Beyond Win Big Prizes
In the meantime, the Mega Millions jackpot also continues to grow. The spectacular prize is currently standing at a whopping $740 million with a lump cash value of $366.3 million. The September 3 drawing did not elect a winner but provided prizes of $1 million to players from Kansas and Michigan.
In other news, an Australian lottery player just won AUD 2.5 million, which she plans to use to take a vacation to Europe.
Last month, two incredibly lucky Wynn Las Vegas guests won prizes of $1 million each. Both jackpots dropped from a Dragon Link slot game.
