Powerball Jackpot Reaches $47M After No One Won Yesterday

The Powerball jackpot has begun building up anew after a few very exciting drawings. While the Wednesday drawing crowned no jackpot winner, this wasn’t all too surprising, considering that several big wins had happened recently.

The Jackpot Has Reached $47M for the Saturday Drawing

The May 6 Powerball drawing went without a jackpot winner, allowing the game’s top prize to continue soaring, beginning a new cycle. The drawing did not award any Match 5 prizes either, but a temporary lull is to be expected, considering last week’s events.

For context, the previous week saw two separate Powerball jackpots land while the game awarded dozens of Match 5 prizes due to a rather unusual winning combination.

The winning numbers drawn on May 6 were 18, 27, 51, 65, and 68, plus the red Powerball 5. The Power Play multiplier, on the other hand, was 3x.

Matching all six numbers would have meant a $31 million windfall for a hypothetical winner, who could have either picked the annuity option for the full sum or the $14 million one-time lump-sum option.

While no one won the jackpot or a Match 5 prize, a few players matched four white numbers plus the Powerball to win the game’s third-tier prize. A total of nine players got $50,000 each, while another two scooped up prizes of $150,000 each due to Power Play.

As the jackpot remained unclaimed, it has now increased to $47 million with a cash value of $21.1 million.

Last Week Saw Players Hit Two Powerball Jackpots

As mentioned, last week was particularly eventful for Powerball players across America. The April 29 drawing was a clear outlier since two separate players matched all six numbers to win the $143 million jackpot.

However, that was not the whole of it since that very same drawing also awarded 80+ Match 5 prizes of $1-2 million. The reason for that was that the numbers drawn perfectly matched one of the number columns as they appear on tickets. Since some players tend to pick an entire column, this resulted in multiple new millionaires being created.

The very next drawing, Powerball awarded yet another jackpot as two other players simultaneously matched the winning numbers and ended up sharing a $20 million prize. This brought the number of Powerball jackpots won in 2026 to 5.
