A man from Lynbrook, Victoria, announced that he plans to retire after winning a seven-figure sum from the recent TattsLotto draw. The winner said that he felt fantastic and was planning to travel the country with his winnings.

The Man Said That He Could Hardly Believe His Luck

The Saturday TattsLotto drawing resulted in a AUD 2.1 million (approximately $1.5 million) windfall for the lucky Lynbrook man. The winner was one of the three division one winners, with the total division prize pool standing at AUD 6.4 million ($4.6 million).

The Lynbrook winner was contacted by lottery officials who confirmed him as the winner of the mouth-watering prize. Speaking to them, the lucky man said that he could hardly believe his luck and noted that he immediately checked the ticket after he was contacted about a big win.

While he thought he might have won division two or three, he was surprised to see that he was the winner of a division one prize.

The Lynbrook man said that he was planning to retire in a few years, but added that the huge payout will ensure that he can do so much earlier. He added that he plans to immediately pack up the caravan and travel around the country.

For reference, the winning numbers for the May 2 drawing were 29, 19, 18, 45, 34, and 9, plus the supplementary numbers 8 and 28.

The lottery revealed that the man had purchased the winning ticket from Lynbrook Village News & Lotto at the Lynbrook Village Shopping Centre. As it turns out, this was the fourth division one winning ticket sold in that store’s history. However, the last big win happened almost a decade ago.
