The Michigan Lottery announced two winners of $500K prizes from its instant games. These included a man from Detroit, as well as a resident of Saginaw County.

TikTok Inspiration Turned Into a $500,000 Payday

The first win was announced on April 22, with the Michigan Lottery confirming Grosjieon Moore as the recipient of a $500,000 prize. The 63-year-old was won this mouth-watering sum from the lottery’s $500,000 Bonus Scratch Multiplier instant game.

In an interview with the lottery, Moore admitted that he was inspired to play after watching TikTok videos of people scratching tickets and winning big. Because of that, he started buying tickets with his partner.

A few days later, my wife and I were scratching Lottery tickets when she yelled: ‘We got a winner!’ She thought we’d won $50,000, but when I looked it over, I saw we’d actually won $500,000. It was amazing!

Grosjieon Moore

Moore, who claimed his prize, said that he plans to save the winnings.

Moore’s winning ticket was sold at New Quick Stop Market, located at 8059 West Grand River Avenue in Detroit.

As the title suggests, this is the top prize players can win from this game. At launch, $500,000 Bonus Scratch Multiplier featured 3 top prizes. As of the time of this writing, 2 of these remain.

The next winner was announced on April 23 and was revealed to be a man from Saginaw County. He won $500,000 from the Money Rush instant game, the Michigan Lottery said.

The 66-year-old player preferred to remain anonymous, but agreed to speak with lottery representatives about his win. He said that he received his winning ticket as a birthday gift from his sister.

My family’s Easter party happened to be on my birthday this year, so at the party, my sister gave me a lottery ticket as a birthday gift. On my way home, I stopped at the store, scratched the barcode, and scanned the ticket. I got a message to file a claim at the Lottery office, so I scratched the ticket when I got home to see what I’d won.

Lottery winner’s statement

The man said that he was “shocked and excited” when he saw the jaw-dropping $500,000 win. He immediately called his sister to share the happy news. He added that he plans to save his winnings for retirement.

The Michigan Lottery said that the winning ticket was sold at the Kroger store, located at 435 North Main Street in Frankenmuth.

At launch, the $5 Money Rush game featured 3 top prizes of $500,000. The Saginaw County winner grabbed the first one, leaving two more up for grabs.
