Michigan Player Wins $1M Match 5 Prize from Powerball, Jackpot Reaches $118M
For context, the winning numbers for the Wednesday jackpot were 24, 29, 32, 49, and 63, plus the red Powerball 11
The Powerball jackpot has remained elusive, but that couldn’t be said about the game’s second-tier prizes, since yet another player scooped up a million-dollar payout from the game. In the meantime, the Saturday drawing will provide players with another shot at the nine-figure jackpot.
Michigan Player Takes a Seven-Figure Prize Home
The drawing that took place on April 22 saw participants play for the $100 million Powerball jackpot. In order to take the game’s top prize in the form of an annuity for the full sum, or as a one-time payment of $45.8 million, players have to match 5 white numbers and the titular red Powerball. In this case, no one managed to do that, although several players came close, winning smaller prizes instead.
For context, the winning numbers for the Wednesday jackpot were 24, 29, 32, 49, and 63. The red Powerball, on the other hand, was 11. The Power Play multiplier for the drawing was 2x.
As mentioned, one player won a Match 5 prize after correctly guessing all numbers, but not the Powerball. As a result, the winner, a ticket-holder in Michigan, won $1 million.
In addition to that, four players matched four white numbers plus the red Powerball to win the game’s third-tier prize. Three of them took home $50,000, while the remaining lottery enthusiast won $100,000 due to Power Play.
In the meantime, the Powerball jackpot has increased to $118 million with a cash option of $53.9 million for the drawing on Saturday, April 25. If the jackpot eludes players once again, another chance will follow next Monday.
Powerball Continues to Mint New Millionaires
Previously, a player in Missouri won a $1 million Match 5 prize from the April 20 drawing. In addition to that, five Power Play players took $150,000 each, thanks to the 3x Power Play modifier.
Last Saturday’s drawing, on the other hand, awarded Match 5 prizes to two separate players. Since neither of them had Power Play active, both will take home $1 million.
The most recent Powerball jackpot was won in early April by a ticket-holder in Delaware who got a $231 million prize.
