Powerball Player in Colorado Wins a $1M Match 5 Prize
The April 15 Powerball drawing failed to crown a jackpot winner, but it more than made up for it by awarding several six-figure prizes, as well as a single seven-figure prize to various players
A Powerball player from Colorado has won $1 million from the Wednesday drawing. In addition to that, the Power Play multiplier of 5x ensured that four players won a quarter of a million dollars each.
Power Play’s 5x Multiplier Greatly Increased Several Players’ Payouts
The April 15 Powerball drawing failed to crown a jackpot winner, but it more than made up for it by awarding several six-figure prizes, as well as a single seven-figure prize to various players. As a result of going without a winner for yet another drawing, the game will boast an even bigger jackpot the next.
For context, the winning numbers for yesterday’s drawing were 13, 21, 27, 43, and 45. The red Powerball drawn was 26.
At the time of the drawing, the game’s top prize stood at $59 million with a one-time lump-sum option of $26.7 million. While no one was lucky enough to match all six winning numbers, one player almost did, matching only the white numbers instead. As a result, the ticket-holder who bought their winning ticket in Colorado will be able to scoop up a $1 million Match 5 prize.
At the same time, a total of ten players across America won the game’s third-tier prize after matching four white numbers plus the Powerball. Six of them will be able to take home $50,000 each. However, the remaining four had the Power Play feature active. Since the Power Play multiplier for that drawing was 5x, each of them will get $250,000 instead.
In the meantime, the Powerball jackpot has now reached $75 million, with a cash value of $34.1 million. The next drawing is set to take place this Saturday.
Powerball Jackpot Was Won Earlier This Month, Game Braces for UK Launch
The previous Powerball jackpot was won by a player in Delaware who matched all six numbers for the April 6 drawing to get a mouth-watering $231 million prize.
In other Powerball news, the game is set to soon launch in the UK, too, as Allwyn, the custodian of The National Lottery, confirmed the major addition. Allwyn said that the launch of Powerball in the UK will be made possible by its partnership with the Multi-State Lottery Association, but could not confirm when exactly the launch will happen.
