Eight Powerball Players Win $200K Prizes Each, Jackpot Reaches $172M

The Wednesday Powerball drawing has gone without a big winner, but over a dozen players won third-tier prizes, including eight players who won $200,000 each. In the meantime, the unclaimed jackpot has continued to grow, reaching $172 million.

Powerball Awards Several $200K Prizes

Yesterday’s drawing saw Powerball players compete for a $155 million jackpot with a cash value of $68 million. To win this life-changing prize, players had to match the five white numbers and the red Powerball, which would have made a hypothetical winner the sixth Powerball winner for 2026.

For reference, the winning numbers drawn on May 27 were 5, 14, 21, 31, and 51, plus the red Powerball 13. The Power Play modifier, on the other hand, was 4x.

As mentioned, no one managed to nail the exact winning combination, resulting in another drawing without a big winner. In addition to that, no one managed to match all five white numbers without the Powerball to win a Match 5 prize.

Still, this doesn’t mean that the drawing went without winners as sixteen players matched four white numbers and the Powerball to win the game’s third-tier prize. Eight of these lucky players will take respectable prizes of $50,000 each, while eight others will take $200,000 each thanks to the Power Play feature and the 4x multiplier.

In the meantime, the jackpot has reached an estimated $172 million with a cash value of $75.6 million for the next drawing. Players will get another shot at this mouth-watering prize this Saturday.

More Americans Win Big from Powerball

In the meantime, two recent drawings awarded Match 5 prizes. These included a player in West Virginia who won $2 million with Power Play, as well as a player in California, who won $1 million, although the latter player’s actual prize could differ due to their state’s lottery rules.

Previously, a player in Virginia won $2 million thanks to Power Play.

In terms of jackpots, Powerball has awarded five so far in 2026. The most recent ones happened at the end of April and the beginning of May, when two subsequent wins happened. Both wins had two victors each, meaning that the prizes will be shared.
