An extremely player in Michigan has become the first winner of the second-tier prize from the Michigan Lottery’s Millionaire For Life game. While the prize would usually see the ticket-holder receive $100,000 a year every year, the game also has a one-time lump-sum payment option.

The First Time This Prize Has Been Won

For context, the Millionaire For Life game features a top prize of $1 million a year for at least 20 years. The second-tier prize, on the other hand, stands at $100,000 a year for life.

The Michigan player in question won the latter prized after matching the five white balls in the May 21 drawing. For context, the winning numbers for that drawing were 3, 15, 16, 24, and 28.

As it turns out, the winning ticket was sold at Mancelona North EZ Mart, located at 8150 US Highway 131 Northeast in Mancelona. The winner has been invited to visit the lottery’s headquarters in Lansing to collect their winnings. They have one year from the time of the drawing to do so.

Once the player visits the lottery HQ to claim the prize, they will be presented with the option to take the $100,000 payments a year for at least 20 years or a one-time lump sum payment of $2.2 million.
