  • The Mega Millions jackpot has reached $296 million with a cash option of $128.6 million
  • The Powerball jackpot is standing at $131 million with a cash option of $57.5 million

The Powerball and Mega Million jackpots have increased for the upcoming drawings, following rather uneventful recent drawings. While both games recently minted several new millionaires, the Tuesday Mega Millions drawing and the Wednesday Powerball drawing went without big winners.

The Top Win from the Tuesday Mega Millions Drawing Was $30K

The Tuesday Mega Millions drawing saw players compete for a jackpot of $277 million, or $120.4 million if a hypothetical winner had chosen the lump-sum option. While the current prize is quite impressive, no one quite managed to match the six numbers required to win it.

For reference, the winning combination drawn on May 19 were 10, 26, 34, 56, and 64, plus the gold Mega Ball 6.

In addition to no one winning the jackpot, no one succeeded in winning a Match 5 prize of between $2 million and $10 million either. In order to win such a prize, players have to match all white numbers.

However, a few players managed to match four white numbers plus the Mega Ball to win the third-tier prize. Five of these players won prizes of $20,000 each on 2x multiplier, while two scooped up prizes of $30,000 each on 3x multiplier.

The Mega Millions jackpot has now reached $296 million with a cash option of $128.6 million. The next drawing is set to take place this Friday.

One Powerball Player Won $150K

In the meantime, the Wednesday Powerball drawing featured a jackpot of $115 million with a cash option of $50.4 million. The winning numbers for the May 20 drawing were 10, 28, 30, 46, 57, plus the red Powerball 25. The Power Play multiplier was 3x.

As mentioned, no one managed to win the game’s top prize or a seven-figure Match 5 prize. Still, several Americans succeeded in matching four white numbers plus the Powerball to win the next prize in line.

Six of those players took prizes of $50,000 each. A separate player who had cleverly activated the Power Play feature won $150,000 instead due to the 3x multiplier.

The Powerball jackpot has reached $131 million with a cash option of $57.5 million. The next drawing is set to take place this Saturday, providing players with another shot at the top prize.
