The Louisiana Gaming Control Board has published a financial report outlining the industry’s performance in April. As it turns out, allowing casinos to move inland has been a popular move, resulting in a spike in casino revenue.

Riverboats and the Sole Land-Based Casino Performed Well

The Louisiana Gaming Control Board stated that the local gaming revenue reached $223.9 million in April, marking an $11.3% increase year-on-year. This was driven by an increase in casino gaming after the state allowed riverboat casinos to move inland.

Riverboat casino revenue for the month was $168.7 million, up from $151.8 million in 2025. The top performer for the month was L’Auberge Lake Charles, which reported revenue of $29.2 million. It was followed by Golden Nugget Lake Charles with $25.4 million in revenue for the month. Rounding up the top three was Treasure Chest with $15 million in revenue.

Other casinos whose revenues surpassed the $10 million mark included Margaritaville ($14.6 million), L’Auberge Baton Rouge ($13.9 million), Live! Casino ($12.1 million), and Horseshoe Bossier City ($10.7 million).

Caesars New Orleans, Louisiana’s sole land-based casino, on the other hand, reported revenue of $27.5 million for April, up from $22.5 million in April 2025.

Sports Betting Revenues and Other Metrics Also Improved

In terms of sports betting, the figures published by the Louisiana Gaming Control Board show that the total betting revenue was $48.6 million. The mobile sports betting sector’s net proceeds were $42.8 million, while its retail counterpart reported net proceeds of $2.7 million. The figures represent year-on-year improvements of 14.8% and 134.6%, respectively.

The daily fantasy sports segment, meanwhile, shows net revenue of $71,814, marking a 12.3% decline from the same period last year.

Additional highlights included a 7.4% increase in video gaming revenue to $70.1 million, as well as a 3.1% increase in revenue from slots at racetracks to $27.7 million.
