World Poker Tour Returns to Sydney With Major 2026 Festival

The World Poker Tour is heading back to Australia later this year, with the popular WPT Australia festival officially set to return to The Star Sydney from September 10 to 30, 2026.

The festival will once again reunite poker aficionados from around Australia and across the globe for one of the country’s biggest poker events of the year.

Major Tourneys and Satellite Qualifiers

Two major championship tournaments will lead the schedule. The first one is the AUD 1,500 WPT Prime Australia Championship running from September 17 to September 22, followed by the AUD 5,000 WPT Australia Championship from September 24 to 30. 

Organizers confirmed that the final tables of both events will be livestreamed, allowing fans around the world to follow the action from Sydney.

Alongside the championship events, the series will feature a full lineup of tournaments and satellite qualifiers designed to give players a chance to enter the marquee events at lower costs. 

The schedule also includes an AUD 500 Ladies Australian Championship on September 15 and 16, as well as Pot Limit Omaha events, bounty tournaments, and several other poker formats.

The Star Sydney is expected to once again serve as a major attraction for both poker players and international visitors, offering luxury accommodations, dining, entertainment, and nightlife throughout the festival.

The Australian stop forms part of the second half of the World Poker Tour’s Season 24 schedule, which includes upcoming events in Cyprus, Jacksonville, Austin, San Jose, Las Vegas, and other destinations still to be announced.
