Mega Millions Jackpot Reaches $331M for Tonight
- The Mega Millions jackpot has reached $331 million after no one won Tuesday
- The latest drawing saw no one win the big prize or a seven-figure sum
- Still, five players won various five-figure prizes after matching four white numbers and the Mega Ball
The Mega Millions jackpot has reached a stellar $331 million after remaining unclaimed for two months. The previous drawing took place Tuesday and went without seven-figure prize winners, although five players won five-figure sums.
Five Players Won Five-Figure Prizes
The May 26 drawing saw players compete for a $311 million jackpot with a cash option of $136.4 million. However, no one matched all the winning numbers, which is the condition for winning the highly coveted prize.
For reference, the winning numbers drawn on Tuesday were 1, 5, 49, 51, and 59, plus the gold Mega Ball 7.
In addition to no one matching all six winning numbers, no one matched the five white numbers either. Doing so would have resulted in a windfall of between $2 million and $10 million, depending on the multiplier.
However, five lucky players won various five-figure sums after matching four white numbers and the gold Mega Ball. Two of them took $20,000 each, two others secured prizes of $30,000 each, and a single player scooped up a $50,000 prize.
In the meantime, the jackpot reached $331 million with a cash option of $145.2 million. The next drawing is set to take place today (May 29), at 11 pm ET.
Only Two Mega Millions Jackpots Have Been Won in 2026
The last few Mega Millions drawings have been slower, with fewer players winning big. However, this has allowed the top prize to soar and reach significant heights. It has yet to be seen whether tonight’s drawing will see the jackpot awarded to a lucky player, or whether the prize will continue to grow.
In the meantime, the Mega Millions jackpot has been won twice in 2026, so far. Both of these came in March, with the first one getting scooped up by a lucky player in Illinois who matched all winning numbers. Only two drawings after this, a different player in Ohio won a $60 million jackpot on St. Patrick’s Day. The money was eventually claimed by the Happy Trails Trust.
