Fanatics Launches Sportsbook in New York, as Planned

As in other states, Fanatics promised to seamlessly migrate existing customers to the new app

Fanatics Betting and Gaming has launched its Fanatics Sportsbook in New York, in line with its ambition to grow its US presence. The lucrative New York market has been something the company has been eyeing for a while and a chief reason for its acquisition of PointsBet’s US assets.

The Fanatics Sportsbook will now replace the PointsBet app in New York. As in other states, the former company promised to seamlessly migrate existing customers to the new app, allowing them to keep their usernames, passwords, wallets and reward points. Furthermore, Fanatics will also maintain their safer gambling setting and any limits they might have set.

Fanatics Sportsbooks users should prepare for best-in-class betting experiences and varied sports markets. The new app, available on both Android and iOS devices, also offers a reliable search engine and a feed that promotes offerings customers may truly care about.

One of the best things players can expect, however, is Fanatics’ unparalleled loyalty program that returns up to 5% of the customer bets in FanCash. Players can then spend this money on a variety of promotional bets and experiences.

Last but not least, Fanatics provides 24/7 customer service that is always ready to answer players’ questions.

Fanatics Acquired PointsBet US to Grow in America

In 2023, PointsBet decided to divest its US business and focus its efforts on other markets. In addition to proving to be a successful strategy for PointsBet, this move enabled Fanatics to drastically expand its US presence.

Since closing the deal, Fanatics has gradually been phasing out the PointsBet app across the US and has launched its branded app in some 15 states. Some of the latest launches saw the Fanatics Sportsbook hit the markets in Indiana, Iowa and Pennsylvania.

The Empire State boasts a flourishing betting and gaming market that has been rapidly expanding for years. Local lawmakers are now discussing the prospects for also launching iGaming, allowing New York to tap into the growing demand for online gambling.

However, the proposal to legalize online casino gaming continues to face opposition. Despite Sen. Joseph P. Addabbo’s claims that iGaming would benefit the market, some are concerned that the vertical might upset the power balance and also expose more players to harm.
