New Jersey Player Wins $4M, But Mega Millions Jackpot Remains Unconquered

The next drawing will take place this Friday, with the jackpot now standing at $130 million with a cash option of $58 million

A player in New Jersey just won a mouth-watering $4 million prize from Mega Millions. While the jackpot remained unclaimed, players will have another shot at the grand prize this Friday.

New Jerseyan Took Home $4M

The Mega Millions prize has survived yet another drawing as no one managed to grab the $120 million prize this Tuesday. However, players will now get a shot at an even greater prize as the Friday drawing approaches.

For context, the winning numbers for the drawing that took place on April 14 were 17, 21, 24, 57, and 69, plus the gold Mega Ball 12. Matching all of them would have equated a $120 million payday if a hypothetical winner picked the annuity option for the full sum, or $53.5 million if they went with the one-time lump-sum payment.

While no one won the grand prize, one player from New Jersey came very close after matching the five white numbers. As a result, the ticket-holder will receive a prize of $4 million thanks to their 4x multiplier.

In the meantime, six separate players won various prizes after matching four white numbers and the gold Mega Ball. One of them took $20,000 (2x multiplier), three took $30,000 each (3x multiplier), and two took $40,000 each (4x multiplier).

The next drawing will take place this Friday, with the jackpot now standing at $130 million with a cash option of $58 million.

Two Mega Millions Jackpots Have Been Won in 2026

Yesterday’s drawing followed the rather uneventful Friday, April 10, drawing when the game elected no big winners.

It has now been a month since the last Mega Millions jackpot was won. The most recent top prize went to a player in Ohio who won the $60 million jackpot on Saint Patrick’s Day.

That win came only a few days after the previous top prize – and first Mega Million jackpot for 2026 – landed. The life-changing $533 million prize went to a player in Illinois, following a few months that went without a jackpot.
