On Monday, The Lott uncovered details regarding the South Australia Saturday X Lotto division one winner. While the name of the winner wasn’t publicly disclosed, what’s known so far is that he is from Glenelg, a beach-side suburb in Adelaide, South Australia’s capital.

The incredibly lucky lottery player purchased his winning 25-game QuickPick entry from Kylie Brown’s Newsagency, Shop 17 / Bayside Village Shopping Cent at Cnr Jetty and Brighton Road in Glenelg. Hitting one of the two division one entries, the Adelaide resident won AU$2,599,857.54. ($1.63 million). Considering that there was a total of two division one entries, each stands to receive the same life-changing amount.

The Winner, Happiest Person in Australia

The lucky Aussie lottery player was asked if he had any plans for his newfound fortune. The man didn’t disclose any particular details but said that he would certainly look into options that would benefit him in the future and hinted at the possibility of hiring a financial advisor.

The newly minted millionaire said that he doesn’t own a home currently, so this will likely be on his list. He also said that he would take care of his family, despite them all saying: “Don’t even think about it!”

When an official from The Lott first reached out to the Glenelg man, he admitted that he is the “happiest person in Australia.” The fortunate man added: “It’s too unreal. Even saying $2.5 million. It just sounds ridiculous. I can’t believe it!”

The Adelaide resident said that he initially received an email notifying him that he won a big prize. At the time, the man thought that he had won a sum of one thousand dollars, or something similar, which is why he checked his Saturday X Lotto numbers. To his own surprise, he matched all six numbers on the lottery game’s Saturday drawing.

While he realized he had won a multi-million-dollar prize, the man said that he tried to remain calm. “I wanted to ensure it was true before getting too excited and shouting it to everyone,” he explained, adding that he went back to the news agency where he purchased the ticket to make sure he did in fact score a division one entry. Once back at the agency, the man said that the employees reaffirmed his multi-million-dollar win and were excited for him.
