IGT Launches IGT PlaySports-Powered Sportsbook in Puerto Rico

Leading global supplier of entertaining and responsible gaming, International Game Technology PLC (IGT), has announced it would strengthen its sports betting foothold in Puerto Rico through a newly signed deal with Ponce Plaza Hotel & Casino. 

The multi-year agreement will allow the Ponce-based casino to harness IGT PlaySports’ premium technology and trading advisory services to power PlayBets by Ponce Plaza, the pioneer casino brand-led retail and mobile sportsbook.

Ponce Plaza Hotel & Casino’s general manager, Ramon Muñoz, took the opportunity to praise IGT as their “valued” supplier of gaming equipment in the past few years while expressing their thrill for extending their “strategic alliance” with the launch of the up-and-coming sportsbook powered by IGT PlaySports. 

Muñoz also mentioned the way Ponce Plaza Hotel & Casino has successfully catered to the needs of the local community since 2008 while expressing pride for becoming the first operator in Puerto Rico to manage and operate its own sportsbook. 

Domestic sports aficionados can expect to enjoy a top-tier experience with backup from a trustworthy and well-known local operator.

IGT’s president of sports betting, Joe Asher, announced their excitement to assist the casino operator with adding the “valuable new player acquisition tool” and delivering “the excitement of multi-channel sports betting to fans in the region.”
