Defense Attorney in Las Vegas Arrested for Sex Trafficking
The 62-year-old defense attorney faces a long list of charges and besides sex trafficking is accused of solicitation to commit murder, conspiracy to commit murder and perjury, among other crimes
A high-profile criminal defense attorney in Las Vegas was arrested earlier this week. The lawyer, who was detained by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD), faces a range of charges, including allegations of conspiracy to commit murder, sex trafficking and other crimes.
The Criminal Defense Attorney Faces Seven Charges
Earlier this week, law enforcement confirmed that the lawyer, 62-year-old Gary Guymon, who served as a defense attorney in the state of Nevada, was arrested. The arrest follows an investigation into the criminal defense attorney’s actions. While the LVMPD confirmed that Guymon was subject to scrutiny, it did not confirm how long the investigation took.
Overall, the defense attorney faces seven different charges, some of which include more than one count. The long list of felonies Guymon is accused of includes sex trafficking, perjury, solicitation to commit murder, conspiracy to commit murder, as well as coercion – sexually motivated. In addition, the criminal defense attorney also faces three counts of pandering, as well as three counts of bribing or intimidating witnesses to influence testimony.
“On February 3, 2025, LVMPD Detectives arrested 62-year-old Gary Guymon, a criminal defense attorney in the state of Nevada. Through the course of the investigation, detectives believe Guymon was using his position as a criminal defense attorney to victimize individuals of sex trafficking and prostitution,“
reads a statement from the LVMPD
Law enforcement encouraged everyone who may have information regarding the case to contact detectives at 702-828-3251. Victims or other people who may have information but want to remain anonymous can also file a tip with Crime Stoppers of Nevada, the LVMPD said.

Felony Charges Can Be Subject to Tough Penalty
The charges the Las Vegas attorney is facing are quite serious. For example, a category B felony, conspiracy to commit murder in Nevada carries a sentence of two to five years in prison, if a person is found guilty. Besides prison time, a fine of up to $5,000 may also be issued.
On the other hand, solicitation to commit murder is a category B felony. If a person is found guilty of such a charge, they would be facing between two and a maximum of 15 years in prison. A fine of up to $10,000 may also be issued in addition to the prison time.
Sex trafficking is also a category B felony. A person found guilty on such a charge may be subject to a fine of up to $10,000 and serve a minimum of three to a maximum of 10 years in prison.
It’s important to note that charges are nothing more than allegations before proven in a court of law. Oftentimes, when a suspect is facing a long list of charges, they consider entering into a guilty plea where they admit to only a couple of crimes.
