An Ohio Man Goes Out for Tomatoes, Ends Up a Millionaire
A casual trip to the grocery store could have an unexpected turn of events - including a multi-million dollar prize draw
A man’s girlfriend in Ohio was out of tomatoes, and that would prove fateful. The man decided to make a quick trip to the grocery store and help out. However, he also felt an urge to play the lottery, and bought a lottery ticket with the $20 he had already won off another ticket.
A tomato run for his girlfriend forever changes a man’s life
Doing the groceries, he also bought a Wild Cash Tripler ticket, and was immediately confused. The ticket displayed a prize of $120,000, which the man, as a seasoned lottery player, didn’t quite understand.
The catch? The award was $120,000 per year for 25 years, or the equivalent of $3 million. Returning to his girlfriend, the man could not believe how a simple errand had turned into a life-altering opportunity.
His girlfriend was equally surprised, “shut up,” she told him, incredulous of the events. But the $3 million prize has already been claimed by the lucky winner, who has opted for the lump sum payment instead – receiving a $1.5 million payout, which amounts to $1.1 million after taxes.
As to what he intends to do with the money, he will be paying off his house for one, invest the money, but also not miss the opportunity to treat himself to a vacation.
