theScore Teams up with Twin River to Launch Online Casino in NJ
The Canadian digital media company theScore signed a multi-year partnership with Twin River securing access to New Jersey’s online gaming market. theScore plans to launch its online casino in the Garden State in the second half of next year.
The Multi-Year Partnership between theScore and Twin River
Yesterday, August 27, theScore and Twin River Worldwide Holdings Inc signed a multi-year agreement. Under the partnership, theScore has secured market access to operate an online casino in New Jersey. The company plans to launch its casino product in the state in the second half of 2021. The launch is subject to securing the necessary licensing from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement. Furthermore, the roll-out is also depending on the completion of Twin River’s acquisition of Bally’s Atlantic City Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City.
The recently inked agreement will see Twin River receive a percentage of the revenue raised from theScore’s online casino in the Garden State. theScore will be subject to annual minimum guaranteed amounts, an upfront fee and, maybe renewal fees but further details are yet to be revealed. The current agreement spans for 10 years but can be extended by a five-year renewal term at theScore’s option. Additional five-year renewal term is valid upon mutual agreement of the involved parties.
CEOs of the Two Companies Share Their Excitement Following the Recent Deal
Commenting on the subject, here is what John Levy, Founder and CEO of theScore said: “The addition of an online casino offering to our award-winning and truly differentiated mobile sports betting platform broadens our reach and deepens our strong portfolio of assets.” He added: “This is yet another step towards providing theScore’s media and betting patrons with a completely holistic and tightly integrated media and gaming experience.“
The President and CEO of Twin River Worldwide Holdings, George Papanier also shared his excitement over the recent partnership. He said that the company is excited for the guests at Atlantic City who will receive highly-personalized iGaming experience provided by theScore. “We look forward to working with them and engaging our guests as they leverage this new, exciting platform,” concluded Papanier.
Earlier this week, we see another key partnership signed by Twin River. The company signed a multi-year partnership with Sporttrade. Under the partnership, Sporttrade is to launch sports betting in New Jersey. But similar to the deal with theScore, the launch of sports betting by Sporttrade is pending the acquisition of Bally’s Atlantic City Hotel and Casino.
Focusing on theScore, we see that the company continues to grow. Earlier this month, theScore Bet received approval to launch online sports betting in Colorado. Following the approval, the operator said that it plans to launch sports betting by the end of this month.
