PointsBet Names Dr. Eric Lee VP of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

Global online gaming operator PointsBet announced on Tuesday that it hired the services of Dr. Eric Lee. By joining the company, Lee is going to serve as a vice president of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).

In his new position, Lee is going to be responsible for overseeing PointsBet’s DEI-related efforts and initiatives. Moreover, he is will be leading the company’s DEI Committee and implementing long-term strategic targets that aim at making the company “a more diverse and inclusive organization and workplace.”

As a bachelor in Social Sciences from Wayne State College, Lee also holds a master’s degree in Education from the same college. Additionally, he has a doctorate in Education and Human Science from the University of Nebraska from 2003. Being an active community volunteer, Lee has been a part of multiple non-profit organizations such as the Colorado Black Construction Group, the Colorado Black Chamber of Commerce, and the Colorado Boxing Commission, to name a few.

The Company Is Delighted to Hire Lee

Before joining PointsBet, Lee was an assistant VP of DEI at Colorado College. He has more than 20 years of corporate, leadership and academic experience in creating and implementing high-impact diversity, inclusion, recruitment, and retention initiatives.

Moreover, Lee has implemented a DEI program for TEKsystems, an IT services company with some 7,500 employees. During his tenure at TEKsystems, he has developed a program that is focused on identifying, promoting, and retaining top-performing people of color within the organization. Undoubtedly, this program proved to be highly successful as it grew to become the company’s foundation for leadership, sales, and executive programs.

Rachelle Carpenter, chief of people at PointsBet

PointsBet’s chief of people, Rachelle Carpenter, said that the company is delighted to team up with Dr. Lee. She outlined that he brings significant experience that will boost the company’s diversification efforts. Additionally, Carpenter said that she does not doubt that as VP of DEI, Lee will help the company “push forward as a brand.” According to her, this will help reaffirm the position of PointsBet as the best employer. In conclusion, Carpenter said that she is looking forward to Lee spearheading the company’s DEI efforts.

Only recently, PointsBet Canada strengthened its position by teaming up with NHL Alumni Association (NHLAA). Before that, last week, PointsBet launched live casino gaming content for customers in New Jersey.
