Permanent DraftKings Sportsbook at Louisiana’s Golden Nugget Opens Doors

The Louisiana casino Golden Nugget Lake Charles, operated by Fertitta Entertainment, and sports entertainment and online betting company DraftKings are opening the permanent retail DraftKings sportsbook at the casino on September 1.

The DraftKings Sportsbook Will Offer 3,200 Square Feet of TV Screens

The retail DraftKings sportsbook at Louisiana’s Golden Nugget Lake Charles casino opened its doors back in November 2021. However, it was only a temporary sportsbook arrangement that could welcome bettors while the permanent sportsbook was being developed. Now, 10 months later, the largest sportsbook in the state of Louisiana is finally ready to open its doors.

The new permanent retail sportsbook will span over a massive 12,000-square-foot floor offering an immersive sports wagering experience to its patrons. Huge TV screens will be all over the place covering an area of 3,200 square feet. Golden Nugget Lake Charles visitors will be able to sit back, relax and watch live games in over 300 lounge seats, some of which are situated in dedicated VIP areas.

The casino will host five ticket cages, which will let customers place their sports wagers. The sportsbook will also offer a number of video poker gaming machines. Patrons will additionally be able to play blackjack at three tables.

About 30 service kiosks where the guests of the casino can place bets themselves will be available throughout the whole Golden Nugget Lake Charles venue.

The New Permanent Sportsbook Will Offer a Unique Sports Betting Experience

Other amenities that will be available at the new permanent DraftKings sportsbook are of course various dining options.

The sportsbook will host a restaurant called DraftKings Sportsbook Bar & Grill, which will offer diverse breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus. There will even be a “quick grab” option for those that have difficulties with tearing themselves away from the live sports game action going on the TV screens.

Hardcore sports fans will also be able to enjoy the usual favorites such as burgers and wings. A dedicated bar will offer a wide variety of drinks, beers, cocktails, and more.

DraftKings’ senior director for retail sportsbooks, Michael Kibort, expressed his excitement about the new venue saying: “We are thrilled to be opening our permanent retail DraftKings Sportsbook inside the Golden Nugget Lake Charles. The massive space, big screen TV’s, odds boards, and dining options will bring the DraftKings brand to life in an ideal setting to experience live sports.”

Fertitta Entertainment’s Chief Operating Officer of Gaming, Gerry Del Prete, highlighted that the new sportsbook will bring the standards for sports betting way higher by offering a unique and enticing audiovisual sports betting entertainment and experience.
