NYC Player Hits $3 Million Jackpot in New York LOTTO Game
The New York Lottery announced the $3 million LOTTO jackpot was won with a ticket sold at Players Cafe in Manhattan
At the end of December, the New York police issued warnings regarding potential scams amid the surge in lottery fever triggered by the drop of the $1.22 billion Mega Millions jackpot.
After the news that the winning ticket was sold in Cottonwood, California following the story of the four players who missed a previous $700M jackpot, many Americans were eager to play.
Roughly one week after the police warnings, a particularly fortunate player scored a whopping $3 million jackpot in the LOTTO game.
The Ticket Was Sold in Manhattan
According to the New York Lottery, which is North America’s largest and most profitable lottery, a New York City resident struck gold, winning the massive jackpot in the New York LOTTO and turning an ordinary Wednesday into a life-changing moment.
The lottery that contributed $3.8 billion in the fiscal year 2023-2024 to public schools in the state confirmed that a single ticket matching all six winning numbers was sold for January 8’s drawing.
The lucky ticket was purchased at Players Cafe, located at 241 Bleecker St. in Manhattan.
Winning Numbers
The winning numbers for Wednesday’s drawing were 4, 14, 22, 36, 42, and 57, with the Bonus Number 30.
To secure the jackpot, players must correctly match all six numbers drawn from a pool of one to 59.
New York LOTTO draws take place every Wednesday and Saturday evening at 8:15 p.m., with the results broadcast live.
For those who may have missed checking their tickets, there’s good news: winners have up to one year from the date of the drawing to claim their prize.
The New York Lottery app also allows players to securely check tickets and stay updated on results, offering convenience and peace of mind.
Players looking for an even easier way to participate can turn to Jackpot.com, a trusted platform for playing the lottery online in New York.
Powerball Third-Prize-Winning Ticket Sold in Long Island City
In similar news, the lottery also announced that one third-prize-winning ticket for the Powerball drawing on January 8 was sold at Greenpoint Expressway located at 35-15 Greenpoint Ave in Long Island City.
The venue sold one prize-winning ticket worth $50,000.
Powerball numbers are selected from a pool ranging from 1 to 69, while the red Power Ball is chosen separately from a pool of 1 to 26. Drawings take place every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. and are broadcast live on television.
