Hurry Up and Rewatch It: “Casino” Set to Exit Netflix on June 1

Key Points
  • Martin Scorsese’s 1995 movie “Casino” is leaving Netflix on June 1, 2026
  • Fans still have a limited window to revisit the iconic Las Vegas crime drama
  • The movie was added to the streaming platform on March 1

Fans of Martin Scorsese’s “Casino” movie have only a short time left to watch the movie on the streaming platform Netflix before it is removed from the platform on June 1.

Expiring Deal

The movie, which joined Netflix’s catalog on March 1, is part of the streaming service’s regularly rotating library of licensed titles. Like many older films, its availability is tied to temporary licensing agreements, meaning it will soon be unavailable for subscribers once the deal expires.

After it leaves Netflix, viewers who still wish to revisit the gambling-inspired movie can rent or purchase it via digital platforms such as Amazon Prime Video or the Apple TV Store.

Physical copies of the film on DVD or Blu-ray are also an option for those who still own them.

“Casino” is still one of the most recognized portrayals of Las Vegas during its mob-controlled era in the 1970s and 1980s.

Directed by Scorsese, the film explores the glamour, corruption, and violence that defined the city during that period.

At the center of the story is Sam “Ace” Rothstein, interpreted by Robert De Niro, a skilled sports handicapper brought in by the Chicago Mafia to oversee operations at a Las Vegas casino.

As he works to increase profits and maintain control, Ace’s personal life gets entangled with Ginger McKenna (Sharon Stone), a hustler whose addiction and shifting loyalties create growing instability.

Joe Pesci also plays the iconic Nicky Santoro, a volatile mob enforcer whose violent behavior draws increasing attention from law enforcement and threatens to unravel the operation.

New Gambling Series in the Works

Over the years, the movie has earned its fair place alongside other Scorsese classics like “Goodfellas” and “Mean Streets”, defining modern gangster cinema and changing the way Hollywood portrays organized crime.

Beyond its departure from Netflix, Scorsese is once again returning to the streaming world with a new project set in Las Vegas, where he is currently serving as executive producer on “The Roman”, a new series from the creators of “Billions”.

The show stars Oscar Isaac, Betty Gilpin, Alec Baldwin, and David Costabile, and focuses on the modern casino industry.

The series is set in today’s high-stakes Las Vegas, where ambition and power struggles define the competitive world of casino ownership. At the center is Robert “Bobby Red” Redman, a casino executive navigating intense pressure as he fights to maintain his position.

Other movies that will be exiting the Netflix catalog in June are the “Fifty Shades” trilogy, the historical war drama “Glory”, and the fantasy comedy “Night at the Museum”.
