DC Lottery’s Exec Suarez to Resign and Join the CT Lottery
The appointment of CT Lottery's new president and CEO will be in effect as of August 1, 2024
Frank Suarez, the DC Lottery’s executive director, will take on a new role with the Connecticut Lottery Corporation (CLC) this summer. Confirmation about the strategic appointment came Thursday, with the CT Lottery’s Board of Directors confirming the appointment of the executive to the role of permanent president and CEO.
Although the announcement was made this week, Suarez will retain his leadership role at the DC Lottery through the end of July. However, starting on August 1, 2024, he will step into the CEO and president role of the CT Lottery.
The CLC confirmed that the latest senior-level appointment follows an extensive nationwide search which started nearly a year ago. Throughout the process, the CT Lottery has examined applications from close to 300 candidates who showed interest in the leadership role.
However, in the end, Suarez was selected for his “strategic vision, dedication to customer-centric solutions, and commitment to fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.” Those solid qualities, the Lottery explained, were in line with its core values, which is why it concluded that Suarez was the perfect pick for the dual role.
The New CEO and President Will Focus on Maximizing Revenue, Maintaining Integrity
Robert T. Simmelkjaer, CLC’s Board chair, revealed that it is exciting to see an expert like Suarez join the Lottery. “His exceptional leadership skills, extensive industry experience, and visionary approach make him the perfect choice to guide our company into the next phase of growth and innovation,” added the executive.
Finally, Simmelkjaer predicted that under the guidance of the new president and CEO, the Lottery continue to deliver value to its growing number of players across Connecticut and enjoy remarkable success.
“I am honored and excited to join the Connecticut Lottery Corporation and to work with the talented team here to drive continued growth and success.“
Frank Suarez, incoming president and CEO at the CT Lottery
The incoming permanent president and CEO of the CT Lottery was just as delighted. Suarez said that it is an honor to join the CLC and help it reach a new level of growth. Finally, the executive explained: “Our focus will be on maximizing revenue for the state while maintaining the highest standards of integrity and responsible gaming.”
Undoubtedly, Suarez represents the perfect pick for the dual senior-level role with the CT Lottery. Over the last decade, he held senior-level roles with the DC Lottery as well as the North Carolina Education Lottery.
Suarez is a proven leader with an exceptional track record. Under his guidance, the two lotteries have seen immense growth and expansion. Now, Suarez will be able to leverage this extensive experience and help propel the growth of the Lottery in Connecticut.
