Reasons Why 2025 NASCAR Pennzoil 400 Odds Favor Kyle Larson

The No. 1 reason why Kyle Larson is a +420 favorite is that he’s got a strong track record at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, a 1.5-mile intermediate oval that complements his aggressive driving style.

He has already won this race twice (in 2021 and last year) and has multiple top-five finishes at this venue. Not only that but he’s always done well on 1.5-mile tracks.

Given that he hasn’t done much in 2025, the March 16 race is a great opportunity for him to get closer to the top in the Drivers’ Championship.

William Byron and Christopher Bell are Also in the Game

William Byron is one of NASCAR’s most complete drivers, excelling on intermediate ovals like Las Vegas, Kansas, and Charlotte. However, the main reason he’s the second favorite for the 2025 Pennzoil 400 is his position at the top of the Drivers’ Championship standings.

He’s won just one race this season – the first one on the calendar – but he’s eager to get back to the top of the podium again.

The man who was at the top of the podium three times already in 2025 is Christopher Bell who won each of the last three races.

He’s third on the list of Pennzoil 400 favorites, and the reason why his odds aren’t shorter is that he’s got a somewhat bad record in Vegas. He never won it, and last year, he finished 33rd.

Other Drivers to Pay Attention to at Pennzoil 400

Analyzing driver performance on 1.5-mile tracks is crucial, as those who do well at superspeedways tend to do well in Vegas – Kyle Larson, William Byron, etc.

However, they’re nowhere near as successful on 1.5-mile tracks as Ryan Blaney. His average finish is 6.7, with six Top 10 finishes (more than any other driver). What’s interesting is that he’s without a triumph at such races – maybe it’s time for him to win?

2025 Pennzoil 400 Prediction

Kyle Larson is the best bet as he’s one of the best intermediate track drivers in the field. He’s also eager to up his game and get closer to the top of the Drivers’ Championship, which is something a win in Vegas could do for him.

Pick: Kyle Larson
