The World Poker Tour (WPT) prepares to make history with its inaugural event in the People’s Republic of China. In partnership with Allied Gaming & Entertainment (AGAE) and Wynn Macau, the prestigious WPT Macau festival will take place from 18 June to 24 June, marking a significant milestone for the global poker community. Macau’s central location means poker enthusiasts throughout Asia can experience this prestigious event.

Macau Is the Ideal Destination for WPT

The upcoming WPT Main Tour poker festival will mark the first time Macau hosts such an event, promising an unparalleled gaming experience at one of the world’s foremost gaming locations. The centerpiece of the WPT Macau festival is the HK$40,000 ($5100) buy-in Championship event, scheduled to run from 20-24 June

Players can also look forward to the WPT High Roller event with a buy-in of HK$200,000 ($25,500) on 19-20 June. Adam Pliska, CEO of the World Poker Tour, expressed excitement about expanding the WPT’s global footprint to the Vegas of the East. The WPT Macau event represents a historic milestone for the World Poker Tour, marking its debut in Macau after over two decades of operation. The event will carry the weight of the Mike Sexton WPT Champions Cup, further elevating its prestige and significance in the poker world. A successful festival can open the doors for other championships in Macau, elevating the region as a leading poker hub.

The Event Hinged on Stakeholder Collaboration

AGAE played a crucial role in facilitating the collaboration between WPT and Wynn Macau, contributing to the marketing, production, and management of WPT Macau. The company emphasized the shared commitment to enhancing offerings in Macau’s entertainment market and creating unforgettable experiences for attendees. Such an approach aims to bolster engagement and provide lasting value to all parties.

Linda Chen, president, vice chairman of the Board, and executive director of Wynn Macau, Limited, expressed enthusiasm for hosting such a prestigious global poker competition. The event should help the leading casino resort retain its substantial momentum, opening new avenues for growth in 2024. Chen highlighted the festival’s significance in reinforcing Macau’s status as a World Centre of Tourism and Leisure.

This exciting mega-event… is set to captivate a new wave of global visitors eager to experience the dynamism of our city.

The announcement of WPT Macau follows the successful completion of the first-ever Main Tour stop in Southeast Asia with WPT Cambodia earlier in January. As the anticipation builds for the WPT Macau festival, the poker community eagerly awaits the opportunity to participate in this landmark event, set to captivate enthusiasts and players worldwide.
